The final round of the KZN Road Racing Club Championship at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone was held on Saturday the 9th of November.
In what would turn out to be a good weekend of racing, the open wheeler with a newly rebuilt engine driven by Tony(father) and Clyde(son) McCree-sponsored by Gabriel qualified 2nd in Class and 15th overall.
Race 1: The race saw the Gabriel single seater come against modified golfs, Nissan GTR R32 skyline and Toyota. However, Tony’s experience saw him keep his confidence throughout the race and finished the first race 2nd in Class and 6th overall for race one.
Race 2: This time the open wheeler was driven by Clyde. The race was filled with action as his skill and prowess saw him pass all his fellow competitors to finish the race 1st for class, setting the fastest lap which was also a new personal record for him. Overall the team was awarded a 3rd overall in the Formula V Class.
Preparations for the 2020 racing season are already underway as the team is looking to have a few podium finishes, possibly even winning the championship.
