Find Your Part

The search bar at the top of this site takes three kinds of input: a Gabriel item number, a vehicle make and model, or a competitor's item number. Type it, then narrow the results with the filters.

Three ways in

What you can type

1 A vehicle make and model

The most common route. Type the make and the model — nothing else — and use the filters to narrow down from there.

Type Toyota Hilux

Searching the model on its own works too, if you know it is unique.

2 A Gabriel item number

If you already have the Gabriel number — off the old box, a quote, or the catalogue — type it in full for an exact match.

Type GS78005

Superseded numbers still work. The result is labelled with the number that replaced it.

3 A competitor's item number

Cross-reference straight from another brand's part number to the Gabriel equivalent. Use the number itself — a brand name on its own returns nothing.

Type the competitor item number

The matching Gabriel part comes back as a normal result.

Narrowing it down

Using the filters

A make-and-model search will usually return a few dozen parts, because one model covers many years, derivatives and fitment positions. The filters down the left of the results are how you get to the one part you need.

MakeThe vehicle manufacturer.
ModelThe model range. Related ranges appear separately — a Hilux search also offers 4-Runner / Hilux Surf.
DerivativeThe version: 4x2 or 4x4, standard or raised suspension, and specific variant codes.
YearProduction ranges rather than single years — pick the band your vehicle falls in.
Fitment positionFront or rear, and left, right or a pair. Shocks should be replaced in pairs.
Part NumberHas its own little search box, for when you want to jump to a number you can see in the list.
Sub BrandWhich Gabriel series the part belongs to — Technomatic, GasRyder, Safari, Safari HDP, FleetRyder or Gaslift.
Worth knowing

Five things that make it easier

Search the make and model, then filter.

Adding an engine size or trim to the search box can widen the results instead of narrowing them, because every part mentioning that number matches. Search “Toyota Hilux”, then use Derivative and Year.

Spelling does not have to be perfect.

The search is forgiving. “hilx” still finds Hilux parts, and capitals make no difference at all.

A brand name alone finds nothing.

For a cross-reference you need the competitor's actual item number, not the brand it came from.

Old numbers still work.

Where a part has been replaced, the listing says so — “Superseded to…” — and searching either number brings up the pair.

Check the part against the catalogue.

Before you buy, confirm the part is the one listed for your vehicle. Fitting a shock to an application other than the listed one voids the warranty.
